When it comes to pocket knives, we all have our own preferences. Some like to carry them and some don’t. Some like multi-tool knives, some like small knives, some like big knives, you get the picture. The Gerber Dime in my opinion is for the person who wants to carry around a little basic functionality, but doesn’t exactly need a big knife.
What I like most about the Dime is that it is compact and doesn’t take up a lot of room in my pocket. One reason I don’t like to carry a typical multi-tool around is that they are often a little too big and bulky for my taste for everyday use. The Gerber Dime is the size of 2 quarters and a nickel to be exact. For size, this is ok with me. The Gerber Dime includes a key chain ring, so you can attach it to your keys if that is your thing. For me, I don’t like to carry a too many items on my key chain because I already have my car remote that takes up a decent amount of room in my pockets. If you attached the Gerber Dime to a couple regular keys, it works out fine.
The function on my Gerber Dime that I use the most is the bottle opener. One of the nice features about the Dime is that you don’t have to open the knife to access this bottle opener, it’s fully functional without having to open the multitool. The other features listed below have their uses from time to time, but given the fact that I often sit in front of a computer when not out enjoying activities, I use the other knife tools less often.

Overall, I found the Gerber Dime to be a fun little accessory to carry around with me that allows me to have the basic tools should the need arise. For more info on the Dime and other Gerber Gear, visit www.gerbergear.com or www.amazon.com/gerber.
